Midlands Gives, May 7, 2019

Dear Friends,

Midlands Gives contributions can now be scheduled? Will you consider a donation to the Kenny Wolfe Foundation?

Losing a loved one at any stage of life is difficult. Losing a child at any age is even more difficult and crippling for any family member. Especially for the parents. Most employers are generous enough to allow up to three days off with pay for the death of a family member. The Kenny Wolfe Foundation would like to give the parents of young people killed in a vehicle collision an extra $1,000.00 to allow them more time away from work to grieve for their child. Through your generous donations, we can help usher these families into their new normal of life at their own pace.

Please schedule your gift today https://www.midlandsgives.org/alittlehelp

Thank you for your continued support.

Youth Summit #beyondthehastag

The Kenny Wolfe Foundation was honored to be a part of the panel at the 5th Annual  Youth Summit at SC State University in July of this year. Our very on CEO was a guest speaker and was excited to attend this years Summit.  Check out all the speaker bios here.  http://eatsmartmovemoresc.org/youth-engagement/youth-summit-2/speaker-bios/

This year’s Youth Summit also featured breakout sessions with one special treat for boys. Award-winning speaker and National Manager at Fatherhood.com, Patrick Patterson, spoke to boys about the importance of establishing strong relationships, keeping a positive circle of friends, and defining success – it’s not about money. He concluded his session with a How to Tie a Tie instruction. For this portion, ESMMSC held a necktie drive and collected over 900 neckties from individuals across the Midlands.

The youth had six other breakout session choices on avoiding risky behaviors, public speaking, how to advocate, how government works, perception of self, and how to make healthy eating and active living policies work in school through the NFL Fuel Up to Play 60.

Other special guests included: WACH FOX 57’s “Trendy” Fraendy Clervaud, Richland County Sherriff’s Deputy Curtis Wilson, and DJ Jeremiah. The Youth Summit was made possible by the Southeastern United Dairy Industry Association, BlueCross BlueShield of SC Medicaid and several other supporters.
